Polar vortex update
Posted by Richard on December 17, 2016
As of 11:23 AM, the temperature in Denver has risen to 0°, with a wind chill of only -11°. There’s a good 6-7″ of fresh snow in my yard.
The “climate experts” assure me that this is due to anthropogenic global warming. So I’m going to do my part and not drive anywhere for the rest of the weekend.
UPDATE, 10:30 PM: We topped out at 3° this afternoon, a new record low high. Earlier this evening, it dropped to -15°, a new record low. But recently the wind shifted from the north to the south, so it’s “warmed up” to -3°. So I guess the worst is over.

Hey Richard:
I don’t know whether this will be extremely useful or not. I used it for a while but I can’t remember the time I posted to tell of one these idiots of which you speak that “anthropocentric global warming/climate change” does not exist, but I thought you might find it at least minimally entertaining:
The liberal cultist theory of “climate change” is nonsense. There is no
scientific consensus that global warming is even taking place, let alone
that it’s serious. There are numerous scientific reasons why it doesn’t exist.
1. The temperature of Earth has been essentially flat for the last 18 years,
and even Phil Jones from the University of Anglia now admits this is true.
2. Tens of thousands of mainstream scientists do not agree that “global
warming” is taking place at all.
3. Arctic ice is not decreasing, and is in fact expanding and has gotten 50%
bigger since 2012. Al Gore’s silly prediction that it would be gone by
2013 has certainly not come true.
4. Careful analysis shows that 95% of climate models used to predict “global
warming” have turned out to be wrong. Dr. Roy Spencer analyzed 90
climate models against surface temperature and satellite temperature data
and found that more than 95 percent of the models “have over-forecast the
warming trend since 1979, whether we use their own surface temperature
dataset (HadCRUT4), or our satellite dataset of lower tropospheric
temperatures (UAH).” There’s an old saying in programming that goes,
“Garbage in, garbage out.” In other words, if the assumptions and data
you put into the models are faulty, then the results will be worthless.
5. Most predictions about the impact of “global warming” have also turned
out to be false. Not only has Al Gore’s ridiculous prediction been wrong,
but also James Hansen’s nonsense about the West Side Highway in New
York being gone by now has turned out to be BS.
If the climate models, predictions and data used by these people are not even close to being correct, how can a rational person be expected to believe in this totally fatuous theory?
