Everything you need to know about Linda Sarsour

Posted by Richard on June 5, 2017

In my previous post, I described Linda Sarsour as a fake feminist. But fake feminist doesn’t begin to fully describe this vile woman. To get a real understanding of this latest darling of the left, read this Caroline Glick column.

That Sarsour is embraced, supported, and honored by a host of “progressive” people and organizations further demonstrates the validity of David Horowitz’s 2004 book, Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left.

Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week

Posted by Richard on October 17, 2008

I've been remiss in not mentioning that Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week III is under way. Sponsored by David Horowitz's Terrorism Awareness Project, it includes events on over 75 campuses and extends well past this week. Several events are scheduled for next week and a few for the week of the 27th.

Check out the calendar of events and see if there's something at a campus near you. Or participate at home by becoming more aware: watch some of the videos available at the TAP home page, the latest videos page, and the TAP YouTube channel.

Islamofascism awareness

Posted by Richard on October 26, 2007

I completely forgot that this was Islamofascism Awareness Week, featuring speeches and other events on college campuses across the country. It's sponsored by David Horowitz's Terrorism Awareness Project. Participants included Horowitz, Robert Spencer, Ibn Warraq, Tammy Bruce, Daniel Pipes, Cyrus Nowrasteh, and Nonie Darwish.

On many campuses, the leftists took time out from supporting feminism, GLBT issues, tolerance, and peace to ally themselves with the most mysogynistic, homophobic, intolerant, and violent religio-political movement on the planet in an effort to silence discussion and criticism of that movement.

At Emory University, they succeeded. The university administration chose not to remove the protesters, implicitly stating that their freedom to "speak" (i.e., shout, harass, and disrupt) trumped scheduled speaker David Horowitz's freedom to speak (and the rights of those who came to hear him). So the lecture was terminated and police escorted Horowitz away.

At other campuses, they tried, but failed. Horowitz was allowed to talk at George Washington, mainly because the conservative Young America's Foundation was in charge of the event and controlled ticket distribution. So folks like these had to protest across the street instead of attacking the stage:

 jihad klan

The 1389 Blog has lots of info and links about the left's censorship efforts on various campuses. Incorrect University is chock full of related entries, with lots of video clips. Including a Democratic Party strategist defending the leftists who forcibly silence opposing viewpoints as "people who are desperate to having their voice heard." Yeah, right, because leftist ideas are never given a chance to be heard on college campuses.

Muslims Against Sharia commented on Nonie Darwish's appearance at Berkeley (emphasis in original):

… As usual, Islamofascists and their Dhimmi supporters have shown their unwavering resolve to crush any type of dissent. One the members of the "Students for Justice in Palestine" claimed that the purpose of the "Islamofascism Awareness Week" is to reinvigorate anti-Muslim and anti-Arab campaign. Given the fact that the speaker, Nonie Darwish, is both Muslim by birth and Arab it truly shows the depth of brainwashing on campus.

Not only that, but Darwish is from Gaza, so she's Palestinian, too. But to the left, only radical Islamists are authentic Muslims, only those who despise the West are authentic Arabs, and only crazed Jew-hating murderers are authentic Palestinians.

The Dhimmi AwardIn recognition of the efforts by Berkeley's leftist students and faculty to defend Islamofascism, Muslims Against Sharia gave Berkeley The Dhimmi Award.

Muslims Against Sharia looks like a pretty fine group of people. Here's an excerpt from their manifesto:

Islam, in its present form, is not compatible with principles of freedom and democracy. Twenty-first century Muslims have two options: we can continue the barbaric policies of the seventh century perpetuated by Hassan al-Banna, Abdullah Azzam, Yassir Arafat, Ruhollah Khomeini, Osama bin Laden, Muslim Brotherhood, al-Qaeda, Hizballah, Hamas, Hizb-ut-Tahrir, etc., leading to a global war between Dar al-Islam (Islamic World) and Dar al-Harb (non-Islamic World), or we can reform Islam to keep our rich cultural heritage and to cleanse our religion from the reviled relics of the past. We, as Muslims who desire to live in harmony with people of other religions, agnostics, and atheists choose the latter option. We can no longer allow Islamic extremists to use our religion as a weapon. We must protect future generations of Muslims from being brainwashed by the Islamic radicals. If we do not stop the spread of Islamic fundamentalism, our children will become homicidal zombies.

Bravo, and best wishes to these brave Muslims.

Islamo-Fascism Awareness Day

Posted by Richard on April 15, 2007

As if April 19th weren't already a significant enough date, the David Horowitz Freedom Center's new Terrorism Awareness Project has chosen that date as Islamo-Fascism Awareness Day:

On April 19th, TAP will stage a nationwide Islamo-Fascism Awareness Day. The focus of this national event will be a screening of the groundbreaking film Obsession: Radical Islam's War against the West on dozens of college campuses across America. …

Obsession is a wake up call. It offers a direct and chilling profile of what is brewing in the world of jihad right now-the plans for the mass murder of Americans and other Westerners and the justification that rationalizes radical Islam's blueprints for genocide.

We anticipate a great deal of opposition from the radical left that refuses to recognize that the War on Terror was not started by Washington, but has been declared on us by a global confederacy of Islamists dedicated to the subjugation and murder of us and other "infidels".

I've posted about Obsession before. It's compelling and important. If you're near one of the 70 or so campuses participating in this event, I urge you to attend. The University of Colorado at Boulder is one of them. Check the Islamo-Fascism Awareness Day page for the full list.

I've also written about the Terrorism Awareness Project before, recommending "The Islamic Mein Kampf" and other materials available at the site. Check it out.

Islamic Mein Kampf

Posted by Richard on February 10, 2007

Go to the Terrorism Awareness Project website and watch the 7½-minute video, "The Islamic Mein Kampf."  Then go to the Ammunition page and download the PDF of the same name. Why do we need a Terrorism Awareness Project? Read "News from the Front" for an overview of the project, why it exists, and the kinds of things it wants to raise awareness about. Here’s a bit of introduction:

In a rational world, there shouldn’t have to be a Terrorism Awareness Project. Not after the slaughter of 9/11 and the clear message that this was just the beginning of what the jihadis had in store for us. And a Terrorism Awareness Project certainly shouldn’t have to be focused on college campuses, which ought to be the intellectual spear point in the defense of our nation. But the sad truth is that America generally is sleepwalking through the war on Terror and our universities are doing something even worse: allowing an unholy alliance to form between the forces of terror and the forces of anti Americanism. Radicals on campus —and radicals continue to define the campus, as they have since the 1960s — may deny that they actively support terror, but they admit that they believe that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Since their enemy is America, the terrorist is their friend. This is why we have launched a Terrorism Awareness Project: to publicize and combat activities on campus ranging from the propaganda of pro-terrorist front groups such as the International Solidarity Movement to curricular distortions of disciplines such as Peace Studies.

Check out the rest of the site, which belongs to the David Horowitz Freedom Center. Read "What You Should Know About Jihad." Take a look at the terrorism ad they’re running in college newspapers (and see which schools refused to run it). Check out the resources available — links, videos, pamphlets, and books.

If you haven’t read David Horowitz’s book, Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left, I strongly recommend it. There aren’t many people who can speak more authoritatively about the New Left than Horowitz — he was one of its top intellectuals, after all. When the heavily-footnoted book mentioned how the editors of Root and Branch rationalized their continued support for Che Guevara after it became clear he was a Stalinist, the footnote for this claim explained that the author was one of those editors. As an ex-leftist, Horowitz has a wealth of valuable insights into the seemingly odd (on the surface) affinity of radical leftists for reactionary Islamofascists.
